Vijayawada, July 21: YSR Congress leader Jagan Mohan Reddy today called for a state-wide bandh on July 24 against the Narendra Modi government.
Reddy told media “We will support any party at the national level. Our only demand is special category status to Andhra Pradesh”.
“We are calling for Andhra Pradesh bandh on Tuesday, 24th July against the injustice done by the BJP government”, he added.
The YSRC leader made the announcement a day after, the Centre didn’t come up with any specific assurance on SCS or other issues during the debate on No Confidence Motion.
Earlier in a day, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu also expressed displeasure saying the saffron party has betrayed the state yet again.
Naidu, who will arrive in New Delhi later today, said that he would address the country about the contemporay situation of the state.
“Sentiments of 5 crore people of Andhra Pradesh are hurt. I’m coming to Delhi on July 21. I want to tell the nation what is being done to the state. BJP has betrayed us yet again and that’s unfortunate,” said Naidu told media.
