New Delhi, Aug 16, 2017: A senior RSS functionary in Uttar Pradesh launched a scathing attack on Yogi Adityanath government for not taking the blame of deadly Gorakhpur tragedy by saying that the state government cannot escape its moral responsibilities.
“There is no doubt about the CM’s intention. However, the way statistics were given to clarify the government’s role didn’t look right. Whoever may be the culprit, the state government cannot escape moral responsibility. For this, all ministers in the state government and members of the BJP organisation should do repentance,” Prabhu Narayan Srivastava, the RSS Prant Sanghchalak of the Awadh region wrote in a post on his Facebook page.
He asked the government to hold a ‘Repentance Day’ and asked why one should not repent on this sensitive issue for a day when politicians celebrate a Shaurya Diwas or Protest Day.
“By only making a few people a scapegoat after a probe will not serve the purpose,” he wrote.
Srivastava also said that he was annoyed with the state ments made by Yogi and health minister Siddharth Nath Singh.
Gorakhpur tragedy took place due to unavailability of oxygen and the inflow of patients has increased in the last three days and over 30 children in critical condition have been admitted in the last one week. While some of them have been sent to the emergency ward.
However, this tragic incident raised several question over the administration of Yogi Adityanath government.
