Yeddyurappa meets Karnataka Governor, stakes claim to form government

Bengaluru, May 16: BJP leader B.S Yeddyurappa on Wednesday met Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala and handed over a formal letter with the signature of 104 MLAs supporting him.

Speaking to media, Yeddyurappa said “The party has chosen me. I have given the letter to the Governor and he will call me, that is what I am hoping. He told me that he will take an appropriate decision. I’ll inform you after I receive letter from Governor.

All eyes are on Vajubhai Vala after the Assembly election results 2018 threw up a hung assembly on Tuesday – with the BJP winning 104 seats, Congress 78 and JD(S) clinching  37 seats.

A day after polls verdict, the newly elected Karnataka BJP MLAs formally elected B.S. Yeddyurappa as the legislative party leader.

Yeddyurappa was already the Chief Ministerial candidate of the BJP in the Karnataka Assembly elections.

Congress points fingers at Doval son, seeks FDI details from Cayman Islands

New Delhi, Jan 17: Alleging links between NSA Ajit Doval’s son Vivek opening a hedge fund in the Cayman Islands soon after demonetisation and an increase in inflow of FDI into India from the territory, the Congress on Thursday demanded the Reserve Bank of India to make public the source of funds received from the tax haven.

Addressing a press conference, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said “In 2011, BJP had constituted a Committee on ‘Indian Black Money Abroad: Secret Banks and Tax Havens’. There were 4 members in this committee; National Security Advisor Ajit Doval was one of them”.

“On 8th Nov, 2016, PM @narendramodi announced Demonetisation. 21st Nov, 2016, Vivek Doval, son of Ajit Doval, opens a hedge fund called ‘GNY Asia’ in Cayman Islands. Cayman Islands is a tax haven, according to the report of BJP’s 2011 committee”.

The former Union Minister further said “GNY Asia has 2 Directors. One of them is Vivek Doval, son of NSA Ajit Doval. Another Director is Don W. Ebanks. Surprisingly, Don W. Ebanks’ name was also found in Panama Paper”.

Citing to BJP’s 2011 Committee Report, Ramesh demand the source of funds received from Cayman Islands to be published.

Mayawati’s Nephew Akash to Join “BSP’s Movement”

Lucknow , Jan 17: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Chief Mayawati on Thursday said that her nephew Akash will join the party’s movement.

Addresing a press conference, Veteran leader stated “I will make Akash (her nephew) join BSP’s movement and give him a chance to learn”.

“Rise in the popularity of BSP and its alliance with SP has created unrest among parties and leaders who are anti-Dalits and casteist”.

In a stern message, the BSP supermo said “”Hum dabbu (timid) kism ke log nahi hain jo sun kar baith jaenge, ghabra jaenge. Uska muhtod jawab dena bhi hamein aata hai…”

Mayawati further said that “I am a disciple of Kanshi Ram ji, so to give a ‘tit for tat’ answer I will make Akash join BSP movement & make him learn. If some casteist & anti-Dalit section of media has a problem with that then let it be. Our party doesn’t care”.

“Instead of fighting us fair and square they are making absurd remarks against us and conspiring with some casteist and anti-Dalit TV channels”, She added.

Amit Shah diagnosed with Swine Flu, admitted to AIIMS

New Delhi, Jan 16: Bharatiya Janata Party National President Amit Shah admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) owing to swine flu infection.

BJP leader Anil Baluni on Thursday said that Shah is doing well. He will be discharged the hospital in a day or two.

Shah (54) arrived at AIIMS later in the evening on Wendesday and is under the observation of the institute’s Director Randeep Guleria.

The BJP Chief also took Twitter to inform about his health condition.

“I am infected with Swine Flu for which treatment is going on. With God’s grace and people’s love and good wishes, I hope to recover soon,” he wrote.
