Former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha and BJP’s disgruntled MP Shatrughan Sinha met DMK chief M. Karunanidhi and Deputy Chief, MK Stalin, in Tamil Nadu. In response to questions related to joining hands with the Congress to defeat the BJP, Stalin said, “our goal is to dislodge BJP from the centre.”
After the meeting, Stalin said, “We talked about forming a coalition to achieve our goal”. Yashwant and Shatrughan Sinha met Stalin at his residence and discussed the political situation at the national level as well as the state.

According to PTI, meeting of Stalin with Yashwant Sinha and Shatrughan Sinha and leaders of other parties are also considered to be important because the DMK’s main allies in Tamil Nadu are Congress. On being asked about the possibility of joining hands with Congress, he said that the aim of coming together of all the parties is to get the BJP out of power.
Stalin said that the issue of meeting with Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao a few days ago was also for the same goal of easing out the saffron party-led regime at the Centre and to forge a combine to make that happen.
