World’s heaviest woman Eman loses 140 kg since arrival in India


New Delhi, March 19: Eman Ahmed, the 36-year old Egyptian lady who had come to India for medical treatment has lost over 140 kg in five weeks, said doctors on Saturday.

Eman weighed at 500 kg, was world’s heaviest women before her treatment. In a statement, the hospital stated her current weight as 358 kg. She arrived in Mumbai in the month of February by a specially modified aircraft.

She is being treated by a team led Dr Mufazzal Lakdawala at Saifee Hospital where she underwent a weight reduction surgery.

Currently she is on “two hourly liquid feeding regime” where she is given low-sodium protein powder mixed with soy milk. Daily, she is provided intake of 1,800 calories, the statement said. “Her level of uric acid remains a challenge,” added the statement. She is having difficulty in swallowing fluids due to a stroke she had suffered earlier. A tube attached to feed her said the statement.
