Words Won’t Fill Empty Stomach: Kharge to Jaitley

New Delhi, Sep 23 : Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge made a satirical attack on Finance  Minister Arun  Jaitley and said that  PM Modi has kept FM Jaitley in the Union cabinet only to make comments and attack the Opposition.

“I would like to tell Jaitley ji, your tall claims and words are not going to fill the stomach of the common man,”Kharge said.

Former French President Francois Hollande in a statement to a French news publication said his government did not have a say in selecting the offset partner in the Reliance deal. The name of Reliance group as the offset partner in the Rs 58,000 crore Rafale deal was suggested by the Indian government, Hollande said.

The Congress and the BJP tussle on the Rafale deal turned ugly with Congress president Rahul Gandhi calling PM Modi a “thief” and Defence Minister replying that Rahul Gandhi is to a “family of thieves”.

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley citing conflicting media reports on Francois Hollande’s claims regarding a private firm becoming an as offset partner in the jet deal at the instance of Modi government and asserting that there was “no partnership as suggested by the former French President”.

Riding on Hollande’s remark to French website Mediapart that that the Indian government had proposed choosing a private firm as an offset partner, the opposition has been gunning for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regime with Congress president Rahul Gandhi even claiming that the former French President had called Prime Minister Narendra Modi a “thief”.
