Hyderabad, June 23, 2017: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu racked up a controversy after criticising people for not supporting Telugu Desam Party (TDP) even after enjoying all the benefits extended by his party on Thursday.
Addressing a group of party workers in Nandyal town of Andhra’s Kurnool district, Naidu said that “People are taking Rs 1,000 monthly pensions given by me. They are drawing ration provided by me. I have waived their agriculture loans to the tune of Rs 1.50 lakh. They are walking on the roads laid by us and are using the street lights provided by us. How can they not vote for us? Why should they take the benefits when they don’t like my rule?”
He also instructed the party workers to ask the people why they are dissatisfied despite getting so many benefits from us and added that he will not hesitate to ignore such villages who don’t vote for his party.
“Why do you still crave for the money distributed by corrupt political leaders and vote for their parties? How can a 500 or 1,000 rupee note given by them change your fortune? I can also give Rs 5,000 per vote but I do not want to indulge in such politics,” Naidu asked the Nandyal villagers.
