RCB fangirl 'Deepika Ghose'

New Delhi, May 13: Deepika Ghose, who became an overnight sensation after being spotted cheering for Virat Kohli’s men in one of Royal Challengers Bangalore’s games in the just-concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) has said that life hasn’t been the same for her since the video went viral. Disappointed at how she is now seen only as an RCB fangirl, Deepika said that there is definitely more to her personality.

#RCB girl forever ❤️?

Now, she has made an Instagram post, wherein she has spoken about the moment when she was spotted in the IPL and what it has led to ever since.

“My name is Deepika Ghose & that is probably the only thing that is being said about me which is 100% TRUE,” she said.

Deepika, who has been going to watch RCB matches for years now with her family, had no idea this match would be any different.

“I did not want any recognition or realise the number of times that I was on camera. I am no celebrity, just an ordinary girl who was enjoying the match. I did nothing to warrant the kind of attention that ensued after the TV images appeared and I certainly did not seek it,” said Deepika.

She added that while she was grateful for all the love she has been receiving, she is also disturbed by the unnecessary negativity. “It has been an extreme case of abuse, trauma and mental torture. I am confused as to how people found my name/profile.

“My identity, privacy and life have been hacked in an instant. A lot of the overnight followers are men who have used this platform to be crude, vulgar, vicious & entirely disrespectful.

“Even more shocking is the hate I have received from women. How quick & cruel you have been to say mean things to & about me without even knowing me. I AM ONE OF YOU!” she added.

My name is Deepika Ghose & that is probably the only thing that is being said about me which is 100% TRUE. It all started on the Saturday of the RCBxSRH IPL match. I have been attending RCB matches for many years. It has become a family tradition to watch, cheer and support our Bengaluru team. When we went for the match on May 4th, I did not expect it to be different. I did not want any recognition or realise the number of times that I was on camera. I am no celebrity, just an ordinary girl who was enjoying the match. I did nothing to warrant the kind of attention that ensued after the TV images appeared & I certainly did not seek it. I have much to be proud of – I am a kind, artistic & hardworking woman. I am well educated, well-travelled and well loved by my friends and family. I have many talents and have excelled at my work as a stylist and as a dancer/teacher/entrepreneur. I do NOT consider being seen on TV at an IPL match an achievement. Many people ask me how my life has changed. It has NOT! The only thing that has changed is the number of my Instagram followers. I am as much in shock as all of you. While I am grateful for the love, I am disturbed by the unnecessary negativity. It has been an extreme case of abuse, trauma and mental torture. I am confused as to how people found my name/profile. My identity, privacy & life have been hacked in an instant. A lot of the overnight followers are men who have used this platform to be crude, vulgar, vicious & entirely disrespectful. Even more shocking is the hate I have received from women. How quick & cruel you have been to say mean things to & about me without even knowing me. I AM ONE OF YOU! The world desperately needs more women supporting & uplifting each other. I am appalled by how I have been judged & condemned instead of being given a compassionate hearing. Stop & think about how it is as a girl to have been subjected to this unwanted attention. So many people have asked me why they should follow me – and you are right to question this. Now that this has happened, I am going to turn this into something genuine, meaningful & fabulous. Yes, I am #theRCBgirl but I am SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT.

Bipasha Basu

Mumbai, Aug 9 : Actress Bipasha Basu loves to do thriller projects as they give her a chance to emote so much, ranging from drama, action, romance to fear.

“Thrillers make for a perfect canvas for an actor – there’s so much to emote, be it drama, action, romance, fear and that’s what really pulls me towards this genre,” Bipasha said.

“I also believe that this genre is enjoyed by audiences because it makes you feel like you’re a part of the process, trying to solve the mystery in your head. While I enjoy other genres as well, thrillers have always been special for me and ‘Dangerous’ even more so – I love the fact that I could act with Karan (husband Karan Singh Grover) again and collaborate with Vikram (Vikram Bhatt), Bhushan (Bhushan Patel) and Mika (Mika Singh) on this project,” she added.

Bipasha is reuniting with Karan Singh for thriller titled “Dangerous”, co-starring Suyyash Rai, Natasha Suri, Sonali Raut, and Nitin Arora. The project is written by Vikram and directed by Bhushan.

It traces the journey of a young entrepreneur Aditya Dhranraj (played by Karan) whose life changes when his wife gets kidnapped and what happens when his ex-lover Neha (played by Bipasha) is sent on-ground to handle the case and find the kidnapper. It will be released on an OTT platform MX Player on August 14.

Disha Salian’s body was not found naked, says Mumbai Police

The Salians also said that while Mumbai Police are doing a good job, it was distressing for them to see sections of the media defaming their daughter.

Disha Slain

Mumbai, Aug 9 : The Mumbai Police on Sunday categorically denied reports in a section of the media that the body of Disha Salian, the former manager of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, was naked when it was discovered.

“This is to clarify that the reports of Disha Salian’s body being found naked are false,” said Mumbai Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 11, Vishal Thakur.

He said that after the incident, police had immediately rushed to the spot and also did a ‘panchnama’ (report of the scene of crime) of the body in the presence of her parents.

Salian had been found dead after falling from a building in Malad on the night of June 8. Six days later, Sushant was found dead at his Bandra flat and the two incidents sparked off a huge political row.

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Sunday, however, flayed the manner in which some politicians were attempting to link the two separate incidents for political gain.

“A BJP leader has alleged that Disha Salian was raped and murdered by throwing her down a building. This is most insensitive towards her grieving family members,” he said.

The Sena leader said that Salian’s family has already made it clear that the rape-and-murder theory about their daughter is false and urged all concerned not to tarnish the family’s image.

In a TV interview, Disha’s parents, Satish and Vasanti Salian have dismissed all speculation that their daughter was pregnant, raped or murdered and said the Mumbai Police have shown them all the records.

The Salians also said that while Mumbai Police are doing a good job, it was distressing for them to see sections of the media defaming their daughter.

Sushant case: Shiv Sena slams BJP for ‘maligning’ Thackerays

“They dragged the investigations. Calling film personalities regularly fuelled gossip and it must be ascertained if this was an attempt to terrorise Bollywood,” said Raut.

Sanjay Raut

Mumbai, Aug 9 : Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Sunday attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for “politicising” the Sushant Singh Rajput case by linking a state minister for alleged political gains.

In a strongly worded column in party newspaper ‘Saamana’, Raut claimed that this was a conspiracy of the BJP with the help of a section of the media to malign the Maharashtra government under Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

“One TV channel uses derogatory, defamatory, and threatening language against the CM. This has distressed many, including Nationalist Congress Party President Sharad Pawar. A section of the media has the support of the opposition party which seeks to destablise the government. Pawar asked me what action the government has initiated over the disrespect meted to Thackeray who holds a Constitutional post,” Raut said.

He suspected that the entire matter was scripted in advance, with the opposition linking Tourism Minister Aditya Thackeray to the case only because he shared cordial relations with several Bollywood personalities, and dubbed it a “conspiracy against the Maharashtra government”.

Targetting the Bihar Police, Raut said it has unnecessarily jumped into this case, especially since nobody stood behind Sushant Singh Rajput during his struggling days, and whatever the actor achieved was due to Mumbai.

“Sushant and his father Krishna Kishore Singh did not enjoy cordial relations, as he was upset by the latter’s (father’s) decision to remarry. He was instigated to lodge the FIR with Bihar Police, which came to Mumbai to investigate an incident which occurred here. Bihar Police is not some ‘Interpol’. This is not acceptable,” Raut declared.

Slamming Bihar Director General of Police Gupteshwar Pandey, the Sena leader said that he has been breaking service rules by taking part in TV debates, commenting on Mumbai Police, and other objectionable actions.

“Who is this Pandey? In 2009, he had quit the police service to contest as a BJP candidate from Buxar, but after the then party candidate threatened rebellion, Pandey withdrew — his situation became ‘na ghar ka, na ghat ka’, with his political mission failing,” said Raut.

Later, he pointed out, Pandey pleaded to rejoin service, with his wife reportedly appealing that when he quit the police force, he was not mentally stable.

“If such a ‘mentally unstable’ person is still taken back on duty, that’s Bihar government’s problem. But today, he is among the closest to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and now media reports suggest he will contest the Assembly elections on a JD-U ticket,” Raut alleged.

Raut said given the high-profile matter, the Mumbai Police should have briefed the media on the probe’s progress every alternate day and made it clear it would investigate if any minister’s or politician’s name cropped up.

“They dragged the investigations. Calling film personalities regularly fuelled gossip and it must be ascertained if this was an attempt to terrorise Bollywood,” said Raut.
