Itanagar, March 19: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said his party will restore the special category status to Arunachal Pradesh and other northeast states if voted to the power.
“We do not impose and will never impose on the culture, language and history of Arunachal Pradesh. We need to connect Arunachal with the rest of the country through infrastructure”, said Gandhi while addressing a public meeting in Itanagar.
He attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the slabs of Goods and Services Tax (GST).
“While introducing GST, Modi promised ease of business. People later realise that GST is Gabbar Singh Tax. There are five different slabs and people do not know how to fill them. We will remove this once in power”.
The Congress Chief accused PM Modi of destroying the Planning Commission.
“Planning Commission was strategically working to address unique issues faced by different regions. Narendra Modi destroyed Planning Commission. No one knows what the NITI Aayog is doing today”.
