Will contest polls if Congress asks, says Priyanka Gandhi

Lucknow, March 27 : Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday said that she had not decided if should would contest the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Priyanka said that she would do if her party asks her to contest. She said, “I’ve not decided yet; If my party asks me to contest, I will definitely contest. My wish is to work for the party.”

Responding to a question on UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s comment that Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka visited temples only during elections, Gandhi said, “How does he know where I go and when? How does he know I don’t go during non-election time?”

Congress general secretary for Uttar Pradesh (East) Priyanka Gandhi will proceed to Raebareli, another Congress stronghold, on Thursday and Ayodhya on March 29.

The Congress general secretary also criticised PM Narendra Modi for “politicising” the Mission Shakti announcement. and reminded PM Modi that DRDO was founded by pandit Nehru.

Priyanka Gandhi congratulated the DRDO scientists for “Mission Shakti” and reminded the Modi government that DRDO was founded by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in 1950.

“I am very, very proud of DRDO, one of India’s great institutions founded by Pandit Nehru in 1950,” she said while speaking to reporters.

Accusing PM Modi of trying to take benefit in the form of votes, she said, “You know, several issues are being politicised which should not happen. According to me, elections should happen on real issues and I am saying that wherever I go.”

Priyanka asserted, “Congress said farm loans will be waived and our governments did it in 10 days. Congress does not bluff. We do what we say. Those who actually bluff accuse us of bluffing.”
