New Delhi, March 22 : Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal said he will “certainly contest” from Delhi’s Chandni Chowk seat in the Lok Sabha,
whether his party enters into an alliance with AAP or not.
But he asserted that any decision of Congress party won’t have any impact on his seat .
AAP has already announced candidates for the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, fielding Pankaj Gupta from Chandni Chowk.
Agreeing that there are two views within the party for having a tie-up with Kejriwal’s AAP, Sibal said, “I don’t know that is for the party to decide. There are two views within the party.”
Sibal had won Chandni Chowk in 2004 and 2009 and has held various important portfolios as a Union minister under the UPA government.
Sibal is currently a member of the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh.
