New Delhi, Oct 8: Soon after Union Minister Piyush Goyal’s presser countering allegations against BJP president Amit Shah’s son, Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal wondered about why Union Minister Piyush Goyal is defending Jay Shah.
Addressing Media, Sibal stated this is an excellent example of crony capitalism, adding our Pradhan Sevak (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) should order a probe into the matter.
Earlier in a day, Congress leader Kapil Sibal citing the information obtained from the Registrar of Companies had revealed that Temple Enterprises Private Ltd, which is owned by Jay Shah had reached a turnover of Rs. 80.50 in 2015-16 from a negligible profit of Rs. 18,728 crore in 2014-15.
The change in fortunes of the firm came after the company received an unsecured loan of Rs 15.78 crore from KIFS Financial Services owned by a relative of a BJP Rajya Sabha member, he added.
After this Union Minister Piyush Goyal, briefing the media over the matter said all the transactions and loans obtained by Jay Shah’s firms — Temple Enterprises Pvt Ltd and Kusum Finserve were done in a transparent manner and the loans were paid back with interest.
