Why Modi-the Chowkidar allowed thieves to escape India: Kapil Sibal asks PM

New Delhi, Jan 6 : Accusing Prime Minister of playing victim card, Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal asked Narendra Modi to respond on why he allowed Nirav Modi, Vijay Mallya and Mehul Choksi to escape when he himself claims to be the chowkidaar of the country.

Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal accused him of pursuing politics of victim-hood in order to hide his incompetence.

“Modiji instead of playing the victim by saying, thieves want chowkidar out ,people are asking why : ( Nirav Modi , Mehulbhai , Mallya ),chowkidar allowed thieves to go out ?”,Sibal said.

The liquor baron had been accused of defrauding Indian banks to a tune of Rs 9000 crore.

According to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Modi and his uncle Mehul Choksi cheated the Punjab National Bank (PNB) of Rs 14,000 crore by fraudulently securing Letters of Undertaking (LoUs) to obtain credit overseas.
