WhatsApp new features: From payment service to disappearing messages; here are 5 new features you should know

Facebook-owned WhatsApp has launched some of the much-awaited features in the last few days in India. Most of these were earlier spotted in its beta version, and now they are available for everyone. You can download the latest version of the app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to try them out.

New WhatsApp features you should try now

WhatsApp Payment: You can now send money on WhatsApp to your friends and family. This payment features works in the same way as it does on Paytm, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, etc. WhatsApp had started testing its payments service in the country with around 1 million users in 2018, and now it has finally released the feature for everyone.

WhatsApp Dispappearing messages: Once enabled, the Disappearing messages feature would automatically delete chats of an individual conversation or a group after 7 days. But, in groups, only admins will have an option to turn it on.

WhatsApp Bulk delete messages: This is another important feature rolled out recently in India. It enables you to delete documents, links, texts, contacts, videos, stickers, pictures and voice messages of an individual chat or a group chat in a single tap to help you free up some space in the app.

Always Mute option: You can now mute the notifications of a WhatsApp chat or a group forever. Earlier the app used to offer three mute options – 8 Hours, 1 Week and 1 Year, but now instead of a year, you can mute a chat permanently.

Search tab: Besides this, you can now search for a specific contact, then choose the type of media and add keywords to look through past chats and messages easily.
