After Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Shivpal Yadav speech, Samajwadi Party’s (SP) national President Mulayam Singh Yadav took over the stage on Saturday at silver jubilee celebration in Janeshwar Mishra Park in Lucknow.
The party president decided to stay out of clashes between Shivpal and Akhilesh and opted to speak on the developmental issues and appealed the party workers to assure the well-being of poor and marginalized of the state. He said that the ideology of the Samajwadi Party can help poor and hungry and urged the leaders to focus on women empowerment and underprivileged section of the society.
Talking about the work of Samajwadi Party government in UP and praising Akhilesh, Mulayam said that “It is true that the UP government has done good work.” However, he asserted him to work towards the unattended challenges. He said that the Samajwadi Party government is the only hope for poor and the neglected.
Mulayam Singh Yadav although chose to remain quiet on the apparent rift within the party, he said that the Samajwadis will remain united to take on the communal powers and defeat them. Mulayam said: “We will remain united and defeat communal powers.” He also said that the four terms at the helm of the state were not any one person’s contribution but a result of hard work of all party workers. Mulayam also added that Samajwadi Party has got the support from all sections of the society.
He, however, advised the party cadres to focus on becoming the voice of the poor and continue the government’s development work.
