Kolkata, Apr 26 : West Bengal Finance minister Amit Mitra today refuted the charges of BJP president Amit Shah that TMC promotes appeasement politics and said the state government schemes benefits all.
“Schemes like Kanyashree, Yuvashree, Sabujshree, Sabuj Sathi, Gatidhara, Geetanjali, Khadya Sathi, Baitarani, Samabyathi and Samarthan are for all. West Bengal government works for all,” Mitra said reacting on Shah’s allegations.
“Our reforms in e-governance, financial matters and in other areas of public service delivery have benefited all sections of the society,” he said.
Mitra described the BJP president’s allegations as “Amit Shah’s blatant and motivated attempt to distort the truth and misguide the people of Bengal.”
On Shah’s comments that no development has happened in Bengal during the six years of Trinamool Congress rule in the state, Mitra said “They are comparing a government of six years with 34 years of Left rule. They are like seasonal birds, coming and going. They can’t see development.”
Reacting to Amit Shah’s comments that the Left Front had left a loan burden of Rs 1.92 lakh crore on the people of the state, and now the state is saddled with a debt burden of Rs 3.5 lakh crore, Mitra said of the Rs 1,13,000 crore increase in the state’s debt stock during the past five years, around Rs 94,000 crore went into debt servicing of the debt left behind by the previous Left Front government.
