West Bengal, February 17: Adding to the trail of counterfeit currency crackdowns, Border Security Force (BSF) yet again seized Rs 2 lakh worth fake notes of Rs 2000 in Malda on Friday.

Earlier this week, high quality’ fake currency notes of Rs 2000 notes were seized by West Bengal police on Tuesday.
An NIA official told media, “Following the introduction of new currency notes of Rs 2,000 and Rs 500, there have been around half a dozen cases where fake currency notes in the denomination of Rs 2,000 were recovered but their quality of far inferior. Most of them were just scanned copy of the note. But the recovery made on Tuesday by our investigators appear to be of high quality.”
Theis incidence was followed by another crackdown, wherein BSF recovered 40 fake Rs 2000 notes at Indo-Bangladesh border.
