Watch: SRK reacts to CBFC’s disapproval of the term ‘intercourse’ in Jab Harry Met Sejal

New Delhi, July 5: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who is leaving no stone unturned to promote his upcoming film “Jab Harry Met Sejal”, says that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has misunderstood the word ‘intercourse’. He says neither he nor people associated with his upcoming film Jab Harry Met Sejal need to use anything “disrespectful” to sell it.

In one of the ‘mini-trails’ of the Imtiaz Ali movie, actor Anushka Sharma is seen handing over an ‘indemnity bond’ to Shah Rukh, saying there won’t be any legal ramifications if the couple ends up having intercourse. This didn’t go down well with Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chairman Pahlaj Nihalani, who condemned the telecast of the mini-trail which was meant for digital consumption only. After the brouhaha, he demanded that if he gets one lakh votes from the common people in its support, he will clear the usage of “intercourse”.

When Shah Rukh was asked about the same during the song launch of the film on Monday night, he said: “The way people have voted in favour of us, I feel, same way they should come to watch our film. I will be very happy.”

“I feel the CBFC misunderstood the context of that word. We respect CBFC a lot. It’s our department. They are doing their job and we are doing ours and as far as that scene is concerned, I don’t think there is anything objectionable in that.”

On Monday, Shah Rukh Khan, Imtiaz Ali and Anushka Sharma launched their second song “Beech beech Mein” which is a club song from their forthcoming film, in a club called Tamasha, here.

While speaking to the media, Shah Rukh revealed that he has not gone for clubbing much.

Talking about his clubbing experience, he said: “I haven’t gone for clubbing much. When I was in Delhi, that time I never used to have that much money to go into clubs and then I came here (Mumbai) to act in movies and became a star so I haven’t had much opportunity to go into clubs here as well. Whatever club hopping I have done is all because of Imtiaz while shooting for this film.”

We are yet to send the film to the censors and they should watch the whole film to decide.” Jab Harry Met Sejal is releasing on August 4, he added.

Apart from Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma, Evelyn Sharma and Sayani Gupta also feature in the film. It is produced by Gauri Khan under production company Red Chillies Entertainment.

Riya Subodh

Mumbai, Dec 17: Riya Subodh, who hails from Ahmedabad, has been chosen as the winner of the third season of “Indias Next Top Model”.

Sabita Karki and Shweta Raj emerged as the first and second runners-up respectively.

With the theme of “Fashion gets tough”, this season not only transformed the lives of many young girls but also provided them with the confidence to own the world.

This season saw actress-model Malaika Arora as the host and head judge, actor Milind Soman joining photographer Dabboo Ratnani on the judging panel, and actress Anusha Dandekar and grooming expert Neeraj Gaba reprising their roles as mentors.

“‘India’s Next Top Model’ is a lifetime experience for me. I am saying this because from all the contestants, I was the only one who had no experience of the big fashion world in big cities like Mumbai,” Riya said in a statement.

“The biggest highlight for me was the photoshoot with Milind Sir and Malaika Ma’am. When I decided to take part in ‘India’s Next Top Model’, I knew that this show is going to change my life forever so when judges announced my name as the winner I had all the memories coming back.

“As I look back, I must say that this wouldn’t have been possible without my parent’s support, and a special thanks to the makers of the show who gave me the new identity of a model,” she added.

Before the ultimate battle of fashion, the show’s top three faces — Riya, Shweta and Sabita, got the chance to shoot for OPPO 2018 calendar.

After the photoshoot, Anusha and Gaba surprised the finalists by getting their family members and friends.

The season’s last photoshoot was a family portrait.

While Shweta and Riya’s family members were present for the shoot, Sabita’s parents couldn’t make it. Gaba and Anusha stepped in and posed with her as her family.

Singer Monica Dogra also performed live.

The episode was aired on MTV on Saturday.
