New Delhi, 11: After its first song ‘Ghoomar’, which went on to register over 25 million views, the makers of epic period drama ”Padmavati’ have unveiled the second song- ‘an epic love ballad’, titled ‘Ek Dil Ek Jaan.’

The official handle of ‘Padmavati’ tweeted, “An epic love ballad between a brave king and a courageous queen. #EkDilEkJaan @deepikapadukone @shahidkapoor @Viacom18Movies @Bhansali_Prod @TSeries”

Featuring Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor, the song encapsulates the romance shared between the two characters, Rani Padmavati and Maharawal Ratan Singh.

The song is a love ballad, and has been composed by director Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself. The song is beautifully regal, just like all the other exquisite visuals of Padmavati. The video depicts the love story between Maharawal Ratan Singh (Shahid) and Rani Padmini (Deepika).

Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are starring opposite each other for the first time on the silver screen and for die-hard fans of both these stars, this is going to be a treat.

Padmavati’s love ballad Ek Dil Ek Jaan shines light on the deep bond between Deepika Padukone’s Padmavati and Shahid Kapoor’s Ratan Singh.

The film is based on Rani Padmini, a legendary Hindu Rajput queen, mentioned in Padmavat, an Avadhi language epic poem, written by Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi in 1540.

The movie, which also stars Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji, is all set to hit the theatres on December 1.
