Haryana, September 2: A student of an Industrial Training Institute in Haryana’s Sonipat was allegedly shot at inside the premises on Saturday by his classmate, a senior police official said.
Both the students are aged between 16-17 years. It is learned that the accused had brought the country-made pistol concealed in his bag, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sonipat, Rahul Dev said.
The video of the shooting that took place inside classroom has emerged showing the two boys approaching the victim from behind, who was talking with other students in the classroom. One of the two boys then took out a pistol from his bag and shot the victim in the back,” the DSP said.
“As the victim fell from the bench he was sitting on, both the accused fled from the spot,” he said, adding preliminary investigation has revealed that an altercation took place between the victim and the two accused a few days back.
“The victim was rushed to a hospital at Sonipat from where he was referred to PGIMS at Rohtak where he is undergoing treatment,” the DSP said.
Police have registered a case of attempt to murder against both the accused.
Meanwhile, a hunt is on to chase the absconding students and questioning is on with other students and authorities concerned in this regard.
