New Delhi, Dec 19: After a gap of four years, Rani Mukerji is returning to the silver screen with some Hichki and loads of expectations. She is making her comeback in an absolutely unseen avatar – Naina Mathur, who believes that she was “born to be a teacher” – only she has a speech defect because of Tourette syndrome, which makes her an oddball teacher.
The Yash Raj Films took to Twitter to share the trailer on Tuesday which is unique, funny and has a message on the education system.

She is given a class of students, who are also oddballs – 14 students from lower income group enrolled in an “elite school, thanks to Right to Education.” Irrespective of her mood – happy, angry or even when she is addressing a serious matter – Naina involuntarily makes a sound “chuck-chuck,” which her colleagues and of course, students, find funny.
The trailer shows the 39-year-old actor as a teacher of a group of ill-mannered students who are out to bully her. Rani, on her side, suffers from Tourette syndrome, which gives her regular hiccups, something that many see as her weakness, but she doesn’t let this take away her confidence. She takes up the challenge of not just finding her own inner strength, but also helping her students find the correct path in life.
How she turns things around, win the respect of her students and fight the management who are looking at expelling these kids is what the movie is all about.
The trailer of Rani Mukerji’s Hichki will also be attached to Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai, which is also produced by Yash Raj Films. It will be Rani’s second film after her wedding – the first was Mardaani, which was a success at the box office.
Hichki is produced by Maneesh Sharma, who has directed films like Band Baaja Baaraat, Ladies vs Ricky Bahl and Fan for Yash Raj Films. The film’s director is Siddharth P Malhotra and produced by Yash Raj Films, the flick is slated for release on February 23.
