Want to sleep a while: Netaji’s last words on Aug 18, 1945

UK-based website  released a  set of documents giving details of last moments to unravel the mystery surrounding Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s death  to confirm that the freedom fighter died as a result of a plane crash in Taiwan.

Subhash Chandra Bose passed away in the Nanmon Military Hospital after a plane crash in Taipei on 18 August 1945. Netaji told a doctor: “I feel as if blood is rushing to my head. I would like to sleep a while.”

These and other little known details of Bose’s last day were released on Saturday to substantiate reports that the iconic leader did not survive the plane crash. The details have been in the public domain but have remained confined to archives, inquiries and interviews.
