Lucknow, Sep 30 : In the Lucknow shootout case of Vivek Tiwari, Uttar Pradesh police have filed such an FIR that saves the two constables, who were arrested for murdering Apple executive. Sana Khan, the lady colleague and the eye-witness of the incident lodged an FIR about the incident. The family members of the deceased have alleged that they were forced to change their statements in the favour of the accused police officers.
Policemen wrote themselves the complaint. The FIR has the mention that two constables were present when the incident happened but who fired at Vivek was not at all mentioned.AS per the sources, police is trying to build the pressure on Sana to weaken the case.
The two constables, who stopped Tiwari’s car, and Sana Khan, who was with him in the vehicle, had different versions of the incident.
Khan said the constables tried to stop their vehicle when Tiwari on his way to drop her home, and in the process the car grazed against the police motorbike parked on the road.
“Vivek moved the vehicle ahead and in the process it brushed against the motorcycle. Then one of the constables fired from the front without any warning,” she alleged.
Khan claimed she realised Tiwari had been hit only when he slumped in his seat and the car rammed into a pillar. “I came out but by then the constable had fled. As I tried to stop truckers for help, another police team reached there,” she said.
However, the cop who fired the gun at Vivek has denied any such charge and said the bullet was “shot by mistake” at the unarmed man.
Police constable who fired the shot, Prashant Chaudhary, said:
“I didn’t shoot at him. The bullet was shot by mistake. He hit me with his car and drove it over me thrice with the intention to kill me. I demand that my FIR must be registered.”Prashant Chaudhary, Police Constable said.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh Saturday spoke to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and asked him to take effective action in connection with the killing of man allegedly by police in Lucknow.
