New Delhi, Nov 20: The Delhi Police baton-charged students of Jawaharlal Nehru University who were demanding complete rollback of the fee hike and the resignation of Vice-Chancellor M Jagadesh Kumar.

Vice-Chancellor has not yet taken out time to meet the students and cops assaulted students to control the demonstrations in New Delhi on November 18.

In one of the videos of the assault, Shashi Bhushan Pandey, a visually-impaired councillor of the university students’ union, was seen being rounded up by the police.

Visuals of injured student protesters, bleeding from their head and admitted to hospitals, sitting battered on roadsides in the national capital was nothing but the stark reality of the brutal assault on student rights and freedom of speech, some said.

Injured students spoke at length about the clash that broke out between them and the police on Monday evening, which also included a visually-challenged student of the varsity being pushed around and beaten mercilessly by the police personnel.
