Ahmedabad, Aug 28: A video in which Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel can be seen preventing his son offering Rs 500 in the donation box in the Somnath temple, is making rounds on Social media.
The incident took place on Monday, when Patel along with Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and his family went to Somnath temple to offer prayers.

In the viral video, it can be observed that Nitin Patel’s son takes out his wallet to pull out some money to drop into the donation box of the temple. Patel who was praying in between quickly prevents his son from putting the currency note.
After inviting flak, the Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister clarified the incident saying “I stopped my son from putting Rs 500 in the donation box because we were going to donate a lump sum amount of donation after the Dhwarja Puja”.
