Viral Video: Before breaking into a shop, Delhi thief shakes a leg

New Delhi, July 12: The CCTV footage of a thief dancing with carefree elan just moments before he and his partner try to break into a shop in Delhi has gone viral on social media.

In the viral CCTV footage, a young man, believed to be a thief, can be seen showing how his dance moves before attempting to break into a shop in the national capital.

The black-and-white video from news agency ANI shows two men casually strolling down a deserted street in the middle of the night when one of them breaks into a confident dancer. The two then casually cover their faces with a handkerchief and proceed to the shuttered entrance of a shop and try to break in.

According to reports, the incident occurred last week when the thieves broke into four shops in the lane and looted goods worth lakhs of rupees.

Kejriwal backs Naidu on barring CBI officials; also advises IT ban

New Delhi, Nov 16 : Backing the Chandrababu Naidu government in Andhra Pradesh on barring the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from conducting raids in the state, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said his counterpart should not allow even the Income Tax Department in the state.

“Chandrababu has done the right thing. Modi is misusing the CBI and Income Tax Department. Why the CBI has not caught those behind the scams of demonetisation, Vijay Mallya, Rafale, Sahara Birla Diaries etc?” Kejriwal tweeted in Hindi.

He also advised Naidu “to not allow the Income Tax Department in the state”.

In an unprecedented move, the Andhra Pradesh government on Friday barred the CBI from conducting raids or carrying out investigations in the state without its permission.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government issued the orders withdrawing ‘general consent’ to CBI officers to exercise jurisdiction in the state to investigate corruption charges against officials of the Central government and private persons.

Misty morning in Delhi, air quality ‘poor’

New Delhi, Nov 15: It was a misty morning in the national capital on Thursday with the minimum temperature recorded at 16.2 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season’s average, weather office said.

The MeT has predicted a clear day ahead.

According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), the air quality was recorded in the ‘poor’ category after overnight drizzle led to a drop in the pollution level.

“It is expected to be a mainly clear sky throughout the day,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

There was 1.4 mm of rainfall recorded in the past 24 hours. The maximum temperature was likely to hover around 28 degrees Celsius. The humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 88 per cent.

Wednesday’s maximum temperature settled at 28.5 degrees, at par with the season’s average, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 17.6 degrees Celsius, four notches above season’s average.

Manali, Narkanda witness season’s 1st snowfall

Shimla, Nov 15: There was overnight moderate snowfall in Manali and Narkanda, the season’s first, a Met official said on Thursday as snow continued to elude the Himachal Pradesh capital here.

The tourist resort of Manali recorded a minimum temperature of minus 1.2 degrees Celsius as the hills overlooking it also experienced moderate spells of snow, Manmohan Singh, Director of the meteorological office here, told IANS.

He said the picturesque Kalpa, some 250 km from here, experienced seven cm of snow.

“High-altitude areas of Lahaul and Spiti, Chamba, Kullu and Kinnaur districts have been experiencing snow since early Thursday,” he added.

Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district was the coldest at minus 3.3.degrees Celsius, while it was minus 0.8 degrees in Kalpa, 8.8 in Dharamsala and 3.3 degrees in Shimla.

As news of the snowfall flashed across the plains, tourists started arriving at Manali and the nearby hills.

Peaks overlooking other popular tourist resorts like Dharamsala and Palampur have also got fresh snow.

The other hill destinations Shimla, Kufri, Dharamsala, Nahan, Chamba and Mandi got rains.
