New Delhi, Sep 19, 2017: Condemning incidents of cow vigilantism, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has said that those who revere cows will not resort to violence, even in a situation where their sentiments are deeply hurt.
Replying to a question during the ongoing RSS meet at Jaipur, Bhagwat said that cows are a matter of great reverence, devotion and attachment. “For those who are so deeply attached to cows, violence is not an option,” said the RSS chief.
Bhagwat, who is on a six-day visit to Jaipur for the meeting, added that for those whom the cow is sacred, they will rear the bovine and will not get involved in any violence and further said that rearing and conservation of cows also has a financial benefit.
“There are several economic benefits of rearing cows and there should be detailed studies to prove its benefits along with a focus on their conservation. The studies will prove their benefits,” he said.
Speaking on another question on use of Chinese goods, the RSS chief said Swadeshi means to use items and products that are made in small and cottage industries.
“Using Swadeshi products provides employment to people. Using Swadeshi items manifest a sense of pride within,” he said.
