New Delhi, Dec 9 :Apparently targeting the Narendra Modi government for not fulfilling the promise for a Ram temple in Ayodhya, senior RSS leader Bhaiyayaji Joshi said that those in power should know that people are not begging but reminding BJP to fulfil the demand of constructing the Ram temple .
Addressing Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s massive rally, or ‘dharma sabha’, at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi on Sunday, Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi said, “those in power should listen to the people and fulfill the demand of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya. He said that they are well aware of the sentiments, adding that a Ram Mandir will be constructed at the same ‘disputed’ land in Ayodhya.”
Joshi said that “we are not begging, but expressing the sentiments of crores of people”. He urged the BJP government to fulfill its promise of Ram Mandir by enacting a law.
The VHP is confident that the bill will be tabled in the upcoming winter session of Parliament for paving the way for construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya.
NHP claims that over 1.5 lakh people are expected to participate in the mega rally.
The Winter Session of the Parliament is likely to commence from the second week of December.
Security has been beefed up in the national capital with the Delhi Traffic Police issuing an advisory about closure of some arterial roads in Central Delhi, in view of the rally.
VHP’s international working president Alok Kumar has expressed confidence that if a Bill for construction of Ram Mandir is tabled in the Parliament, it will sail through easily because all political parties including the Congress are bound to support it. “You (Congress) don’t want to vote (in favour of the bill), don’t vote, but you can’t oppose it otherwise all your branding of Hindutva will collapse,” Kumar said.
