New Delhi, Sep 10: After serving more than seven decades of practice, noted advocate Ram Jethmalani announced his retirement on Saturday.
Speaking at a function organised by the Bar Council of India in honour of new Chief Justice Dipak Misra, Jethmalani said “I am here just to tell you I am retiring from the profession but I am taking on a new role as long as I am alive.”
“I wish to combat the corrupt politicians that have been brought into the position of power and I hope India’s condition will improve.” he added.
Jethmalani, widely known as one of India’s outstanding legal minds.During Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government he served as the Law Minister and the Urban Development Minister.
While announcing his retirement the ace lawyer recalling his initial practicing days stated his doors will always remain open for young lawyers and would help them in every way.
