Uttarakhand HC stays EC’s EVM challenge

EVM Tampering

Nainital, June 2, 2017: The Uttarakhand High Court today told the Election Commission of India that the electronic voting machine (EVM) challenge that is scheduled to be held on June 3 is unconstitutional.

The poll panel had invited all political parties to take part in the challenge.

A division bench of the High Court was hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) filed against the EC in connection with the EVM challenge.

The Uttarakhand HC is still to decide whether it will stay the EVM challenge or not.
