Lucknow, July 2 : The woman police officer who stood up against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders for bullying, sent them to prison in Bulandshahar district has been transferred to Bahraich on Saturday.
Shrestha Thakur a senior police officer, comes into the limelight after a video went viral in which BJP leaders can been seen bullying her.
Thakur was transferred more than a week after incident took place, following a meeting of the delegation including 11 MLAs and MPs of the party with the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. As per HT report.
On June 22, when Thakur along with her team was checking vehicles in Syana region when she stopped a person for not wearing a helmet and fined him of Rs 200.
Later the man introduced himself as BJP leader Pramod Kumar — his wife is a member of jila panchayat in Bulandshahar.
When argument heated, the man called other workers of the party and they started bullying the cop.
After the situation got out of the control, Thakur arrested them.
