Washington,Aug 3: The US state department has urged Americans to leave North Korea before a travel ban goes into effect on September 1.
The ban is going to remain in effect for one year, unless the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson call off.
The travel warning for North Korea was announced last month after a American student Otto Warmbier who was arrested for stealing a from his hostel and lost his life following a prolonged detention in the country.
Keeping security and safety reasons in mind, the US state department decided to opt for travel ban to the secretive and geopolitically isolated country.
However, under the new warning exceptions to the travel ban need special permission that would be only granted under very limited circumstances. As per now journalists and humanitarian workers have been exempted.
