New Delhi, Dec 14: Reacting to the Rafale verdict, Senior Congress leader Anand Sharma said that there is no reason for the Bharatiya Janata Party to celebrate as the Supreme Court has not commented on many fundamental aspects of the Rafale deal and we continue to demand a Joint Parliamentary Committee on the matter.

Sharma told media that the apex court has not gone into many important aspects of the deal.

“Supreme Court has not commented on many important aspects. We continue to demand a Joint Parliamentary Committee(JPC) on the issue.

“There is no reason for PM and BJP Govt to celebrate Supreme Court order which in itself is contradictory. Honourable SC has said it won’t be proper for it to go into details”.

The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed all the petitions seeking court-monitored probe into the purchase of 36 Rafale jet fighters in ready to fly conditions holding that the decision-making process was not in doubt.

A bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice Sanjay Krishan Kaul and Justice K.M. Joseph said it cannot go into the question of pricing and choice of offset Indian partner by the French aircraft manufacturer Dassault.
