New Delhi, Dec 28: Ahead of Uttar Pradesh polls, Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav on Wednesday announced a list of 325 candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in UP.
The list which names the candidates to contest election was announced by Mulayam Singh in a press conference held in Lucknow. For now, the name of candidates for the rest 78 seats are left to be announced, Mulayam said that the name of candidates will be announced soon as the discussion is ongoing.
“We have declared a list of 325 candidates for upcoming 2017 assembly polls, 78 seats still remain,” said Mulayam.
Out of 325 announced candidates, 176 are currently the sitting MLAs. Mulayam Singh informed that 4200 people applied for the party’s candidature. Mulayam Singh also announced the name of his brother Shivpal Yadav from Jaswant Nagar Assembly seat.
Mulayam said the one who wins in Uttar Pradesh also wins in Delhi. He also claimed that the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls will be held before February 28.
Mulayam also said that Samajwadi Party will not form any alliance with any other party.
