The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Unnao Sengar is one of the accused in the sensational rape case.
Accused of raping a 17-year-old and conspiring to kill victims’ father, who died of injuries he sustained while beaten brutally in police custody by Sengar’s brother and some aides, the BJP MLA was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation in April.
The teen had accused the MLA of raping her in June last year at his residence on June 4, 2017, where she had gone with a relative seeking a job.
Earlier in April, she also tried to set herself on fire outside the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath’s residence, claiming inaction in the matter.
