Lucknow, May 11: Unnao rape case victim on Friday demanded death penalty for accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar.

Speaking to news ANI, she said: “I demand death penalty for BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar for raping me and for the murder of my father”.

Accused of raping a 17-year-old and conspiring to kill victims’s father, who died of injuries he sustained while beaten brutally in police custody by Sengar’s brother and some aides, the BJP MLA was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation last month.

Sengar, the lawmaker from Unnao’s Bangamau, however, continued to claim that he was innocent

Woman Shashi Singh, who is accused of taking the girl to the lawmaker had been also been held.

Three cases have been filed against the BJP legislator under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.

In the first FIR, the CBI named Sengar and Shashi Singh, a woman who allegedly took the rape victim to the Bharatiya Janata Party leader’s house.

The second FIR is against four of Sengar’s accomplices — Vineet, Baua, Shailu and Sonu — over the charges of rioting, criminal intimidation and voluntarily causing hurt.

The third one relates to Sengar’s brother Atul Singh, who claimed that he was attacked by the victim’s father. Atul Singh is presently in judicial custody.

The teen had accused the MLA of raping her in June last year.

Earlier in April, she also tried to set herself on fire outside the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath’s residence, claiming inaction in the matter.
