New Delhi, June 25: Indian boxer Ankush Dahiya has won a gold medal in 60 kg weight category after defeating Korean Man Choe Chol in Ulaanbaatar Cup. He performed exceedingly well in the summit clash and brought great news for Indian sports after Kidambi Srikanth’s victory in Australian Open Super Series in badminton.
This was 19-year-old Ankush’s second international tournament since making the transition from youth to elite level late last year.
Earlier, five-time world champion and Olympic medallist M C Mary Kom (51kg) had received a bye to enter the quarterfinals of Ulaanbaatar Cup boxing tournament on Wednesday. Moreover, India made a majestic start in the tournament with four wins on the opening day in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
