Uber driver held for molesting woman passenger in Delhi


New Delhi, Mar 13: A 25-year-old Uber cab driver has been held for allegedly kidnapping and molesting a woman passenger in the national capital. 

When the victim tried to escape, by activating the car’s central locking system, the driver allegedly locked the car doors.

According to news agency ANI report, when the woman got into the cab, the first thing she noticed was that the vehicle did not have a yellow number plate. And after few minutes of the ride, she allegedly found the driver’s suspicious activities.

Following this, when she realised that the driver allegedly chose a different route over her preferred route. She tried to jump out of the car, but the driver activated the central locking system.

However, she managed to unlock the door and jumped out when the vehicle slowed down near a CNG pump in Jahangirpuri.

Later, she approached the Mahender Park Police Station and lodged a complaint against the driver.

The police nabbed the intoxicated driver from a Haryana village and also seized his car.
