Typhoon Megi likely to make landfall in China

Beijing, Sep 24: The Typhoon the 17th of this year Megi, is likely to make landfall in China’s Fujian and Guangdong provinces next week, weather officials informed on Saturday.

Till 5 a.m. Saturday, the storm centre was located about 1,780 km to the southeast of Taitung in Taiwan on the Pacific Ocean, packing wind of up to 23 metres per second, Xinhua news agency reported.

Megi will move northwest at 20 km per hour to reach the Chinese mainland on September 28, as per  NMC forecast.

Meanwhile, a heavy downpour is forecasted in northern and northeastern China for coming three days.
