Srinagar, June 17 : Two terrorists were killed in an encounter with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday morning.
During the gunfight, two soldiers including an Army officer also suffered injuries. They have been shifted to a hospital in Srinagar.
“The three injured have been shifted to a hospital and some terrorist were still engaged in the ensuing gunfight,” the police said.
The gunfight took place after personnel of the Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operations Group (SOG) of state police personnel received information about the presence of terrorists in Achabal area of South Kashmir, security personnel launched a cordon and search operation and surrounded the Bidoora village in Achabal area.
The bodies of the slain militants have been recovered. Their identities are being ascertained, the police added.
