Two suspected cow thieves lynched in West Bengal


After the Ballabgarh issue of mob lynching two muslim men have been killed in West Bengal’s Uttar Dinajpur district over allegations of cow theives.  The victims have been identified as Samiruddin, Naseer-ul-Haq and Naseer.

According to police, the residents of Sonapur gram panchayat’s Durgapur village had thought  that the three men had entered their village to steal cows.

According to news report  a group of 15 men  entered Durgapur village on Thursday night and the rumours spread that they had come to steal cows. An alarm was raised after which the villagers gathered in large numbers. They tried to apprehend this group but many of them fled. However, three men were caught and beaten up by the mob.

By the time, police reached, they were already dead. The bodies were recovered from the village and sent for post-mortem. While police has been  deployed in the village to avoid any further violence.
