Washington, May 5: US President Donald Trump has invited Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos to the White House administration officials said.
The meeting, scheduled for May 18, duo will hold bilateral talks and discuss regional issues, including implementation of a peace accord reached between the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, Xinhua news agency quoted the officials as saying in a statement.
The two leaders will also talk about engagement on shared security objective.
In addition, the meeting will cover topics including “countering democratic lapse in Venezuela”, the statement asserted.
According to the Colombian Embassy in Washington, Santos will also meet with US Vice President Mike Pence and other Congressional leaders, including House Speaker Paul Ryan.
