Congress will provide a vision to the states it has won: Rahul Gandhi

Congress President Rahul Gandhi said that the party is going to provide the states — Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh — a vision to overcome the problems that its youth, farmers and small shopkeepers are facing. “There’s a lack of understanding about the problems that the people are facing. We are going to provide these states a govt that they can be proud of,” he said.

BJP has an ideology, we’ll fight against it & defeat them. The ideology of SP, BSP and Congress is the same – different from that of BJP.We have defeated them today and we will do this again in 2019. But we don’t want to erase anyone from the face of India, Rahul hitting back at Modi’s BJP, which has been erasing history of India .

“There will not be a big issue of Chief Minister face. It will be done smoothly, Gandhi said.

“When PM was elected to power, he was elected on three platforms—employment, corruption and farmers. It was in people’s mind that PM will fight against corruption. Now people think that PM Modi himself is corrupt,”Gandhi added.

“It is a big responsibility on us and we will work on this,it is time for change,” he said, crediting Congress workers and also outgoing BJP chief ministers for his party’s victories.

The Congress won in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh and fought a close battle in Madhya Pradesh in the state elections seen as the semi-final before the 2019 national elections.

“The country is not happy with demonetisation, GST and lack of jobs. I am happy with what we achieved.” He said, adding that the prime minister is unable to handle pressure.

“The prime minister won on the promise that he will fight against corruption. But that feeling is over. Now the public thinks that the prime minister himself is corrupt. The reality is there is corruption in Rafale scam, and it will come out soon,” said Rahul Gandhi.

Despite Congress win, Rahul Gandhi questions the usage of EVMs

Questioning once again the usage of EVMs for polling. Rahul Gandhi  said, ” As far as the EVMs are concerned, there are issues with them, universally. If the people in the country are uncomfortable with the EVM, then it’s a big issue which needs to be addressed.”

“The central issue of EVM is still there, if the chip is manipulated you can affect the entire voting system, that’s not possible with manual voting. This is a question that has been answered in the US and other countries, where they’ve said that we don’t want an EVM,” he said while addressing the media.

Favouring manual voting, Gandhi said, “EVM tampering is a universal issue and is still prevalent, there is a chip if that is manipulated it changes everything, this will not be done when the voting is manual.”
