‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ declared tax free in UP by CM Yogi

Lucknow, Aug 4: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar‏ today met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow and took part in the state government’s cleanliness drive event. Soon after his visit, the movie was declared tax free in the state for its social message.


Kumar took to Twitter to express his gratitude. The ‘Airlift’ actor said that he was honoured to be part of the campaign. He was also seen wielding broom with the CM.

Adityanath has time to time pitched for making UP clean. In May, he had picked broom to set an example. Adityanath had earlier said that by December 2017, the government was aiming to declare 30 districts and by October 2018 the entire state open defecation-free. Meanwhile, Kumar was in Lucknow to promote his next film ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ which will be released on August 11.

Akshay Kumar shared the stage with CM, Adityanath to spread awareness of toilet among the citizens and side by to side to promote his film as well. The function was held in Millennium School, Lucknow.

At an event at a city school, Akshay along with Bhoomi Pedenkar, his co-star in the upcoming film “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” also administered an oath of cleanliness to the students.

Soon after the program got over, Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath made a big announcement making film tax free in Uttar Pradesh. Not only this, Akshay Kumar was also chosen as brand-ambassador for clean Uttar Pradesh.

After Lucknow, now  the stars will be going to Agra to promote both cleanliness and the film.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already praised the concept of the film. Adityanath on his part has been promoting the Swachh Bharat mission as the chief executive of the state and had wielded a broom on an earlier occasion also.
