To settle political score, BJP is doing cheap stunts: Congress

Abhishek Manu Singhvi

New Delhi, Dec 8: The Congress on Saturday hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party saying “to settle a political score, BJP is doing cheap stunts.

“The defeat of BJP in the 5 states has made them nervous, which has led them to divert people with a different narrative”, Senior Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi said while addressing a press conference.

“They should remember that time and election results change. An election result is going to change on 11th Dec and another next year. Officials who head imp depts should remind their political masters that there should be discipline&restraint because time is never same”.

Continuing his attack, Singhvi stated the Rule of law and constitution have been sidelined by Narendra Modi government and have resorted to dictatorship.

“To settle political scores in petty manner, cheap stunts are being done by the ruling party”.

Speaking about the raids on Manoj Arora, an associate of Robert Vadra, the Congress leader said the seraches were conducted for 24 hours on Arora, besides raiding the residence of associate’s sister, who has a paralysed husband and a child. This was done with neither an FIR nor a warrant”.

“Threats were issued to employees, a stick was shown for physical threats, they were not allowed to speak to their families or lawyers. This kind of ‘terrorist Raj’ is unknown to the ethos of a constitutional democracy like India”, he asserted.
