Time bomb alert scares two aircrafts at Delhi IGI airport

The two Aircrafts bound for Nepal and Bhubaneswar have been grounded after receiving the hoax call made by an anonymous person who identified himself as Abhishek Singh and informed that there is a “time bomb” in the Nepal bound flight.

Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International airport is under massive search operation after a bomb scare on two jets.

Agencies are trying to trace the number and also the location from where the call was made, said Official.

All the Kathmandu-bound Nepal Airlines carrying 155 passengers and nine crew members and Bhubaneswar-bound Air India flight carrying 178 fliers including the 4 MPs and seven crew members have been evacuated. Both the aircrafts have been taken to an isolated place for security clearance.

The Central Industrial Security Force chief and Delhi Police cordoned off the two planes along with bomb disposal squads. Passengers of both the flights and their luggage are subjected to a second round of checking with the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) at the IGIA monitoring the situation.

The threat was triggered when the airport control room received a call from a person identifying himself as Abhishek Singh, a “CBI officer” and said that while there is a “time bomb” in the Nepal bound flight, some “movement” has happened at the terminal area to hit the AI flight.
