‘The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir’, the foreign debut film of Tamil actor Dhanush,which depicts the immigration due to conflicts and other issues,is set to release globally on June 21.
A Tamil version of the film, which is titled Pakkiri, will also hit the screens in Tamil Nadu for his ardent fans.
The story of the film starts from India and travels to different places like Paris, London and Libya as the central character Ajatashatru Lavash Patel sets out on his journey.
The problems that many immigrants are facing worldwide.
Dhanush said, ‘the film focusses on the issue of immigration in a very positive way and how that is intertwined with global immigration.”
Directed by Ken Scott, The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir is based on a novel written by Romain Puertolas. The film features international actors like Bérénice Bejo, Erin Moriarty, Barkhad Abdi and Gérard Jugnot.
Ajatashatru Lavash Patel (Dhanush) is a street magician in Mumbai, who is determined to go to Paris and find his father. But the journey takes him to a lot of other places in between, in this light-hearted comedy-drama.
The film has received favourable reviews from Spain and director Ken Scott said that Spain loved both Dhanush and the film.
Other than the upcoming venture, Dhanush is currently busy with Vetrimaaran’s film Asuran, which has Manju Warrier in the lead role. After wrapping up the film, Dhanush will start his second directorial venture.
