New Delhi, July 3: Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Tuesday moved an anticipatory bail plea in Patiala House Court over the death case of his wife Sunanda Pushkar.
The court had issued a summon notice to Tharoor in the case on June 5.
He was asked to appear before the court on July 7.
The court had also taken cognizance of the charge-sheet filed in the matter.
Prior to this on May 24, the Delhi Court transferred the case to the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM), Samar Vishal.
The court said, “Since he (Tharoor) is a sitting Member of Parliament, the matter is being sent to the special designated court for politicians, that is ACMM Samar Vishal. Matter be taken up on May 28.”
Sunanda Pushkar was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a suite of Delhi’s five-star hotel on the night of January 17, 2014.
