Hyderabad: Indian stage and film actor, V J Ramana Murthi dies on Wednesday due to heart ailment in hospital.
Ramana Murthi was the brother of noted actor J V Somayajulu, who had acted in the Telugu classic “Shankarabharanam”.
Murthi was born in Srikakulam on May 20, 1933. He was introduced to the silver screen through the film “MLA” directed by K B Tilak in 1957. He also acted in Chiranjeevi-starrer “Shankar Dada Zindabad” in 2007.
The actor went on to do 150 films including Maro Charitra, Gorintaku, Aakali Rajyam, Batasaari, Saptapadi, Shubalekha, Sirivennela and Ananda Bhairavi. He is best remembered for playing Girisam in the cult play, Kanyasulkam.
