Bihar,April 26 : In a show of unity by the grand alliance,Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav appealed to a crowd to vote for Rahul Gandhi as prime minister and said that the country needs a PM like the Congress chief as he has the potential to bring a turnaround in the country.
“Please make Rahul ji Prime Minister as not only does he talk about the poor, he also doesn’t have any problem meeting them, unlike our Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has time to attend Priyanka Chopra’s reception but can’t visit a poor man’s home,” said Tejashwi, the younger son of Lalu Yadav.
Gandhi on Friday shared the stage with Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav along with other coalition leaders, at Samastipur to campaign for Congress’s nominee Ashok Kumar from the reserved Samastipur parliamentary constituency, which will go to poll in the fourth phase on April 29.
Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of only patronising fugitive businessmen, while neglecting the country’s poor classes, including farmers. He said that the Congress’s NYAY scheme – the common income scheme -promises of giving Rs 6,000 each month to poor families to eradicate poverty.
Publicly endorsing NYAY scheme, Tejashwi said, “Rahul Gandhi’s ‘NYAY’ scheme would benefit more people from Bihar. There is a difference between what PM Modi says and does, but Rahul ji always does what he says and without losing much time. Like the way he promised loan waivers and see how it was waived in those three states,” he said.
